Hearts and Hands Together..the Charm of Bamboo That Connects Hearts

Under the skies of China, the Land of the Dragon, history, magic, and beauty, and within the setting of one of the international events that brings the peoples of the world together through love, knowledge, humanitarian work, and environmental action, I had a remarkable human and cultural experience through delivering the opening speech at a seminar that brought together participants from different countries around the world.

My speech began in Egypt, from a land that the sun taught how to keep its secrets, and the Nile taught that life can be born from the heart of the desert. I came from the land of civilization to the Land of the Dragon, the land of love and peace, which has linked the greatness of its past with the passion of its future.

We gather beneath the skies of China, that land which transformed its hardships into achievements that became the talk of the entire world; a land that realized that nature and humanity cannot be separated, but must find a way to coexist and live in harmony.

It is a land whose young people and citizens, even before its elders and leaders, recognized the importance of nature. Its generations grew up with a deeply rooted conviction that the land, mountains, and water are priceless treasures. It is a land that planted the seeds of knowledge, love for the earth, and environmental preservation in the hearts of its children, watering them every day with the water of knowledge and loyalty to the homeland.

Peace be upon this land that brought us together.

We are the children of one Earth. We came from different places, carrying different languages and distant homelands, yet we are united by one destiny and an exceptional mission: to become the true guardians of our Mother Earth and the protective shield for generations to come.

We came different; we look at the same horizon, yet each of us has their own visions and dreams. We breathe the same air, yet in the chest of each of us beats a different story and a different rhythm. We walk together along the path of life, yet every soul among us leaves its own lasting mark and unique footprint.

We came different, but we were united by our passion for knowledge and learning. We came to a country that has recognized that science and the dissemination of knowledge are among the highest and greatest principles.

The wisdom of human connection is reflected in two sayings that express the depth of this meaning:

Ancient Egyptian Wisdom:

"A united drop waters a flower, but joining hands creates a river."

Ancient Chinese Wisdom:

"When the winds of change blow, some people build walls to embrace fear, while others build windmills to learn how to fly."

And this is what brings us together. Our differences are a blessing and one of life's greatest wisdoms. No one possesses everything, and no one is without something they lack.

Every human being carries within them a side that cannot be complete without the presence of another. What we may perceive as a difference between us could actually be the missing piece that completes the painting.

Perhaps this is why life did not create us all alike, because complete similarity would leave us with nothing to learn from one another.

Every human being possesses an ability that no one else has, and within every difference between us lies an opportunity for shortcomings to become complementarity, and for diversity to become a space for connection.

Bamboo... The Philosophy of Strength That Bends but Never Breaks

I stand in great admiration before the extraordinary bamboo plant. It bends before the strongest storms and winds without breaking. It possesses a quiet flexibility, while its roots extend deep into the earth with strength and firmness.

That silent strength is the very same strength possessed by people whom life has granted both differences and strength at the same time. It is precisely the spirit of bamboo: an undefeated flexibility and a quiet strength that transforms challenges into creativity, and pain into a fabric that weaves new hope for the world.

The presence of people of determination and exceptional abilities at such international gatherings is the greatest proof of this limitless strength.

True strength does not lie in the body. The body may be restricted, but no one can restrict the spirit, the mind, or the power of the will. That is true strength.

A person may possess a gentle kind of strength, yet it can be powerful and deeply influential, just like water, which dissolves rocks through its flexibility and persistence.

In the sanctuary of life, the bamboo plant stands as a philosophical icon embodying the deepest secrets of the human soul. It is that patient creature that undergoes a legendary journey of hidden growth, spending its first years in the darkness of the soil, while the world sees nothing of it but a tiny sprout. Meanwhile, it works in silence and dignity to extend an enormous network of roots, solid as rock, deep beneath the earth.

Once the epic journey of its roots is complete, it rises proudly with breathtaking beauty, reaching toward the light and the clouds.

The grand miracle reveals itself in that unique combination of delicate grace and immense strength. Despite their lightness and hollow, translucent interiors, bamboo stalks possess a resistance that surpasses even the toughest types of steel.

When fierce winds and storms rage against it, bamboo does not stiffen in the face of the storm, nor does it fight its fate. Instead, it performs an enchanting dance of flexibility. It bends with humility and pride, yielding in order to tame the tempest, then regains its uprightness and grandeur as soon as the storm passes, remaining pristine as though nothing had ever happened.

That hidden power, calm and gentle on the surface, is the very truth manifested in the souls of people of determination and exceptional abilities; those whom life has granted a different path, allowing them to draw an extraordinary miracle of inspiration from the depths of challenge.

They are a living embodiment of the spirit of bamboo. They do not fight their circumstances; rather, they embrace them with an enchanting philosophical resilience, transforming setbacks into expressions of creativity and weaving from pain an exquisite fabric that restores the world's faith in beauty and harmony.

They are like the proud stalks of bamboo. They may appear soft or delicate on the outside, yet within them they carry an iron will stronger than steel.

Every day, they prove to the world that the true value of a human being has never been determined by the physical form or outward appearance. Bodies are merely fleeting details, while the true essence remains beyond the reach of any boundary in this world.

Nothing can restrict a soul glowing with passion, a mind overflowing with light, or a will that has chosen to transcend everything ordinary!

They and bamboo are one and the same. Both are teachers of patience in darkness, masters of resilience in the face of storms, and supreme icons of a spirit that bends but never breaks, and of the quiet strength hidden behind the most delicate forms of human beauty.

They are not merely a success story to be told; they are the true teachers of life and the actual creators of the most beautiful forms of hope, determination, and human beauty.

China and NAFGA... When Gatherings Become One Family

Among the human values I wanted to emphasize in my speech was that this gathering does not represent merely a meeting of people from different countries. Rather, it marks the beginning of human relationships that transcend geographical, linguistic, and cultural boundaries.

At the beginning of the gathering, we may look at one another as strangers from different countries, not knowing each other's names or the nations from which we have come. But we must always remember this moment well, because just a few days later, this place will be filled with our laughter, conversations, and gatherings around one table and one meal, like one family in one home, united by warmth and love.

We will leave this place as a real family, whose members will miss one another and the memories they have created together.

This is the magic of China and the magic of NAFGA, as though they possess a magic wand that spreads love among human beings.

What NAFGA does in bringing hearts closer and building bridges of knowledge between different peoples and countries is no less important or powerful than its work in serving the environment, protecting our Mother Earth, and supporting every human being across different abilities, categories, and spectrums.

What this organization is accomplishing is truly remarkable. Perhaps those behind it do not fully realize the profound impact and magical power they leave in the heart of every person who sets foot in this place and eventually departs.

Support, inclusion, and care for humanity, alongside environmental action, are all messages that reflect the value of genuine work that goes beyond words to leave a lasting impact on people's hearts.

It is from this perspective that words of gratitude and appreciation are extended to NAFGA, to everyone behind the organization, and to all the organizers and workers who continuously dedicate their efforts with open hearts to making this gathering a success and creating an unforgettable human experience.

You Will Leave with Your Bodies Only... But Your Hearts Will Remain Here

At the end of this experience, one human truth remains that I firmly believe in: we may come from distant countries, speak different languages, and carry diverse cultures, yet we can meet in one space where love and humanity bring us together.

At the end of this seminar, the participants will leave with their bodies only, but they will leave their hearts here, and their souls will remain connected to this place.

This is the magical secret of NAFGA that no one has ever managed to discover; a magic that words cannot create and distances cannot explain, but one that is created by hearts when they meet sincerely.

From Egypt, the land of the Nile and civilization, to China, the Land of the Dragon and history, the message remains the same: our differences are not barriers separating us, but opportunities to complement one another. True strength does not mean never bending before life's challenges; rather, it means possessing the flexibility that allows us to bend without breaking, and to rise again with even greater strength and determination.

At the conclusion of this extraordinary human and cultural experience, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the official sponsor of these seminars and events, in recognition of its role in supporting these international gatherings, which open new horizons for communication and the exchange of knowledge and experiences among peoples.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Chinese Embassy in Egypt and all those working within it, in recognition of their efforts and their role in strengthening the bridges of cooperation, communication, and friendship between the Egyptian and Chinese peoples.

Last but certainly not least, my heartfelt thanks and gratitude go to the NAFGA Rangeland and Forestry Organization, a bridge that connects not only peoples but also hearts; an organization that spreads love, creates spaces for humanity and integration, and brings together diverse cultures and abilities under one umbrella of giving, tolerance, and service to humanity and our Mother Earth.

To everyone who contributed to making this experience possible, to every hand extended in generosity, and to every heart that helped bring distances closer, I offer my deepest thanks, appreciation, and gratitude.

Some places we leave with our bodies, yet our souls remain attached to them. And some organizations leave us not merely with memories, but with an impact that lives in our hearts forever.
